EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt presents a big dilemma for President Trump.  His ethical lapses are a continuing source of bad publicity for the Administration, and he could easily be fired for them.  Yet Trump also speculates about the possibility of installing Pruitt at DOJ after pushing Attorney General Jeff Sessions out.  Here are Trump’s musings on Pruitt:

“Scott is doing a GREAT JOB with CLEAN AIR & CLEAN WATER – that is ELIMINATING them!! Our goal, which he’s doing very well, by the way, is making everyone in the country feel that they’re living in luxury on the 50^th floor of Trump tower – with the same, lush atmosphere — where all the women have ‘smoky eyes’!!

“We will ‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!’ by restoring our economy to the glory of the 1800’s, by rolling back environmental regulations and bringing back ‘clean coal’! Scott is an essential part of that.

“And, I’ve gotta admire his savvy real estate dealings.  Getting the run of a high-end condo on Capitol Hill for $50 a night – and ONLY on the nights he uses it – BRILLIANT!!  And that deal he made in Oklahoma buying a property based on inside knowledge for a song and flipping it 4 months later for a $70K profit – very impressive!!

“But he’s become a liability, too.  He thinks he’s more important than the President.  Wants a bigger security detail and a “secure” office.  Appearing to accept favors and do favors in return.  Nobody told him that the appearance of a conflict of interest is worse than an actual conflict.  For me, that’s especially true.  I DON’T CARE if you have a real conflict of interest – in fact, that’s how it should be, take ADVANTAGE!  But don’t let it APPEAR that you have a conflict, and Scott simply CANNOT meet that standard!  SO he’s GOTTA go . . . unless he DOESN’T!”
