Jared Kushner, Princeling of Darkness, Has a Lot to Answer For

As Palmer Report has pointed out, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner are the likely source of reports that the disingenuous couple is “distancing” themselves from Donald Trump, as he plunges further into his demented ravings that the 2020 election was stolen from him.  But even if their supposed “distancing” from Trump is true (and there is plenty of reason to doubt it), there is no basis for letting them off the hook for their past behavior in supporting and enabling Trump in much of his trashing and looting of America for the prior four years.

Kushner and Ivanka were installed by Trump in top White House positions with absolutely no qualifications for their jobs, aside from the fact that he apparently trusted them. He gave Kushner a portfolio that would have been daunting even for an incredibly capable official, which Jared decidedly was not: modernize and revamp the entire U.S. government, resolve the perennially thorny Israeli-Palestinian hostilities, solve the opioid crisis, and, towards the end, serve as shadow COVID Czar.

Naturally, the smug, supercilious Kushner failed at the tasks at hand. But he did succeed in the primary Trump purpose – making money off his government position. So before anyone even thinks of rehabilitating Kushner’s sordid reputation, here are some of the things he has to answer for:

After failing for months, how did he somehow miraculously secure refinancing for the financially disastrous 666th Avenue building, for which he’d vastly overpaid? Was it a coincidence that he found his personal savior in the Middle East while he was the primary official representing the U.S. in Mid-East policy? After Qataris turned his father down for investing in the Kushners’ financial sinkhole, Jared reportedly supported a blockade of Qatar spearheaded by Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates on the pretext that Qatar supported terrorists (and Saudi Arabia has not??), despite the fact that Qatar hosts a key U.S. airbase that is essential to our fight against terrorists. After enduring the blockade for some time, Brookfield Property Partners, which has ties to the Qatari government, provided the funds for the Kushners — and lo and behold, the blockade was lifted!

Why did Kushner fail to provide full disclosure of his finances and foreign contacts in his early applications for a security clearance? Why did he press for Top Secret clearance when he failed to qualify under standard procedures?  Security officials reportedly felt he was too vulnerable to foreign manipulation. Reports that Saudis and other foreign officials boasted that he was in their pocket lent credence to those concerns. Why did Trump overrule the professionals and give Kushner full access to our nation’s most closely guarded intelligence information – and what did he do with the information?

For instance, what intelligence did he pass on to Mohammed “Bone Saw” bin Salman (MBS), Saudi’s Crown Prince, with whom he communicated under mysterious circumstances both in person and via WhatsApp, and who ruthlessly moved to eliminate his political opponents?  Also, what does Kushner know about MBS’ role in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi — and did Kushner help whitewash the Prince’s involvement?

How did Kushner and Ivanka make upwards of $640 Million while ostensibly working for the federal government?

Why did Kushner, in his Mideast Peace discussions, seemingly tell the Palestinians, essentially, that they better agree to what Israel wants? Did his family’s personal ties with Benjamin Netanyahu influence him? How about Israeli financial powerhouse Menora Mivtachim’s $30 million investment in one of his family real estate ventures?

What was the full price the U.S. paid to Mideast countries (Sudan, Bahrain, U.A.E. and Morocco) to sign peace treaties with Israel, even though they were not at war? We’ve heard of weapons sales, Sudan’s removal from the terrorist nations list, and recognition of Morocco’s annexation of the Western Sahara, but was there more? And was there any personal benefit for Trump or Kushner?

Did Kushner make a political calculation that the failure to stop the spread of Covid in the U.S. could benefit Trump in the 2020 election? Did he really think “Blue” states would suffer more than “Red” states? What happened with his amateur effort that was supposed to get COVID relief supplies, such Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ventilators, to those healthcare facilities and workers who needed it the most, but wound up with him disastrously declaring that the federal stockpiles were “ours” and not for the states to use? Also, in the initial rollout of COVID vaccines, where did 20 million missing doses of vaccines go?

What does Kushner know about Trump’s attempts to corrupt state and local election officials to overturn the results of the 2020 Presidential election?

In short, before anyone considers re-evaluating the Poster Boy for the Dunning-Kruger Effect, Kushner has a lot of explaining to do.
